This will be my final "vacation period". The next homecoming's going to be permanent but that'll still be in April...

Just want to give out my advance holiday greetings to everybody who will be visiting or straying onto my blog. Will do my best to post updates during the vacation season. Suffice to say that I'll be busy for the next few weeks. hehe

Tomorrow I'll be making my way to the airport for my flight.

Surviving

I was one of the lucky few who were unaffected by the intense flooding brought about by "Ondoy". But elsewhere, there is chaos and the unfortunate loss of lives. Let's do what we can to help those in need...

One good thing about being disconnected to the internet in the boarding house is that I was able to devote time for my papers in Anthro. Take home exam was completed yesterday after three nights working feverishly on the theoretical analysis of selected aspects of Philippine culture using various anthropological viewpoints. If there was a time that I came closest to having a "nosebleed", this is it. Whew

Stay safe everybody and make adequate precaution as another storm is making its way to our shores.

Updates

Kas 208 paper almost finished. Ilang paragraphs na lang and the rest will be editing, tweaking, and formatting. Sigurado this week tapos na ito.

Anthro 292 take home exam finally unleashed! hahaha I'll be having fun with this one.

Kas 204 paper still hovering in limbo. May konting research. Next week masisimulan na talaga ito, or else patay tayo...

Finished Crane's Red Badge of Courage and Well's The Time Machine. Pahinga muna from the Necronomicon. whew...

Long Delayed Updates

Hello to everyone who still have the patience to keep up with this blog. My apologies for the long intervals between posts -- it seems I am growing jaded to this adventure here in Manila and only a few instances of wonder (or weirdness) finds its way to this blog.

I'm still getting my bearings with my life here in Manila after having been away for a few days. The past week has been a blur, full of activity and excitement. One moment I'm in the sandy shores of Boracay, the next I'm weaving my way through traffic in Makati, spending one night in a cheap-ass hotel with the Browns. The past few days were hectic and fun...and I'm still recovering. hehehe

What Lies Beyond the Event Horizon?

No one is really sure, though theories abound. I tried reading the wikipedia article on 'event horizon' but my comprehension conked out after three paragraphs.

I am now approaching the end of this (mis)adventure in Manila. I am approaching a new horizon filled with uncertainty but we have to trudge on, even with the faintest hope and notion of where we are truly headed.

Join me as I begin the journey to the end of this adventure. I face the coming end not with a sense of dread but a feeling of hopeful optimism (redundant?).

Don't worry folks. Just because we are at the beginning of the end doesn't mean that the wackiness will ease.

After all, this is sonofaditch we're talking about. hehe

Have Camera, Will Shoot...

Oftentimes in my stay here in the heartland of Manila (hehe), I would encounter things and incidents that often make me go:

"I wish I had a camera around..."

But since in my 'past' life the bulk of my resources is often invested on my PC and my mini-library, I never got around to purchasing a digital camera...or even a cellphone with camera.

BUT!

Things are about to change as a kind-hearted individual lent me the means to render my visualizations onto paper (or is it pixels?) Regina lent me her trusty digital camera for a week since we will be taking some shots of the exhibit area at the Pasig Museum in order to figure out how to situate our bountiful (huwaw) collection come February...

So while we are still yet to visit the museum, I indulged myself and took the liberty of capturing some sights in sonofaditch's universe.

Meaning, more proofs of life to come...

This blog is about to become a photo blog soon...

But take note, ha...there will be no JUMPING or any attempts at simulated flight or weightlessness featured in my pics. hehehe

it has been quite a loooong while since I have posted on this blog. A lot of things have happened and I would not be going over all the details here. The important thing is sonofaditch is alive and well

...and is already a level 30 apprentice wizard in Cabal Online.

Updates about the Labors of Sonofaditch?

well...hehe

I failed to pass my term paper for Kas 226 on the scheduled deadline. the cause of which was a mishap with my laptop's OS which threw my whole schedule awry. Try as I might, with pen and paper in hand, iba pa rin pala kung nasanay ka nang gumagawa ng paper on a laptop on the wee hours of the evening and early morning.

I realized that if I push myself too hard, I would just be regurgitating a mediocre paper for my course. Since sir jose was kind enough to inform us that he allows INCs in his course, I decided to take that option and wait out the lag in my system.

Now that my laptop's resuscitated, I look forward to spending next week on my kas 226term paper. It just needs consolidation and a bit of tweaking, but I'm confident that I'll be able to pass my paper before the end of november. Itaga mo yan sa bato. hehe

So this week, I am devoting myself to imbibing in the atmosphere of the semestral break. In short, ine-enjoy ko muna ang sembreak, hence the foray into online gaming and my entry into Cabal Online. Good thing may member discount ang internet cafe na pinapasukan ko hehe.

This gaming fever will only be for this week, after which any subsequent "quests" will take a backseat to the real-life adventures of graduate school in peyups...

But for now, kiddies...
